Katey Sheets Personal Trainer
Katey grew up in Greenfield, IA where she attended Nodaway Valley High School. During high school, she participated in track doing the shuttle hurdle relay and long jump, bowling, and softball along with choir and FFA. Throughout her junior and senior years, Katey played for a fall and spring softball league to improve her skills and knowledge about the game. After her trip to the state softball tournament where her team placed sixth, Katey was recruited by Hendrix College to play softball.
During her college career, Katey played in many different positions but was settled into 3rd base. Her sophomore year, Katey had a .405 batting average and made the academic honor roll for 2 years. Outside of softbal, Katey interned with two individuals. Her first internship was under the head strength and conditioning coach at Hendrix College. She worked with the women’s and men’s lacrosse teams as well as the football and baseball teams. Her second internship was under Rodney Gillespie at Gillespie Boxing. She worked with clients through personal training and assisted with boxing fundamentals. Katey graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.
Katey is currently USA Track and Field Level 1 (USATF-1) and National Council on Strength and Fitness Personal Trainer (NCSF-PT) certified. She is currently working to obtain her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
