who-said-it-isnt-over-until-its-over-kc-royals-have-a-say

Honestly, who said it isn’t over until it’s over? Technically there is not a name attached to this common saying.

However, Hall of Fame baseball legend Yogi Berra once said, “it ain’t over till it’s over”. Yogi is right, just because your backs are against the wall does not mean you have to fold. Bite the bullet and face the challenge, just like the Kansas City Royals did  in their exciting playoff series comeback against the Astros.

Quick recap, the Royals were down 2-1 in the series and facing elimination in the 7th inning against the Astros AT Houston. Base hit after base hit they miraculously scored 5 runs in the 7th and won the game, which took the series back home where the Royals finished them off clinching the series.

The Royals were not one of those teams.

9 out of 10 teams would have hang their cleats, pack the bags and head home.  They knew what was on the table and they took the challenge head on. You can’t look at any daunting situation and mentally check yourself out, it’s the time to focus on your one objective and take it one step at a time. The Royals weren’t cranking out home runs to best the Astros, they chipped away one base hit at a time. Relax, take a deep breath and focus on the main objective, like when spiderman uses his spidey senses to slow everything down. Thats the mentality the Royals had staring elimination in the face. Disregard the distractions around you and visualize your goals.

Here at Training For Warriors every workout is a challenge and maybe some days you may not be at 100%.

You had a long day at work, kids need to go to soccer practice, still gotta make dinner, the last thing you have maybe not mentally ready for is working out. It’s hard to workout day in and day out, but the long term benefits are the goals you need to be striving for. “It ain’t over till it’s over” doesn’t have to be a professional athlete saying, you have everyday challenges that are just as hard or harder compared to what the Royals did. Remember without your health you are nothing, so get out there and never quit on your hopes and dreams no matter how daunting they may seem.
